Come Closer

Come Closer

Do you smell the delicious fragrance of forgiveness

Emanating from my pores?

A thousand moons or more ago I awakened to the stench of bitterness,

No longer willing for another person’s actions

To imprison my soul.

I departed from that place called Poison

Where I feasted on anger, plotted revenge.

I prayed for the brokenness … both yours and mine.

I prayed for release and reconciliation.

Come closer – where nothing can stand between us.

Come closer – taste my tears of joy.

Discover Freedom.

Leaves for Healing

Leaves for Healing

There’s a tree that offers life

To all creation drawing breath

Gather now leaves of renewal

Choosing life instead of death

God is calling us to mend all

Broken nations on this globe

And the leaves provide the healing

Hope and wholeness, Christ-like love.

There’s a shrub supplying shade

To broken-hearted, desperate souls

Gather now leaves of compassion

Be with those cast out, alone

God is calling us to mend all

Broken nations on this globe

And the leaves provide the healing

Hope and wholeness, Christ-like love.

There’s a vine that flows forgiveness

Second chances, mercy grown

Gather now leaves of redemption

Share communion’s holy home

God is calling us to mend all

Broken nations on this globe

And the leaves provide the healing

Hope and wholeness, Christ-like love.
