About Cynthia
Stories have captivated me since my earliest memories and I am blessed to be able to focus on faith and stories and their many intersections: to connect people to people and people to God one story at at time.
I am what United Methodists call a minister beyond the local church or an extension minister. My ministry (and appointment) finds expression through Piecing Stories – the name of my ministry and what I do in solitude and with groups.
Like each of you I am multi-faceted. I am a poet, writer, fabric artist, minister, budding photographer, wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, friend… and more. As I seek to explore and express The Sacred, many mediums are embraced: fabric, words, photography, worship, silence and ritual.
I served as a pastor of several churches and now minister with people who are in the Church, disillusioned with the Church, minimally involved in Church or just curious about God. I minister with people and their families who are in hospice or are hospitalized.
My blog is a place where I will share worship resources for pastors. I will also blog about children (one of my passions) and encouraging/learning from their spiritual journey. I may also blog about parenting. Praying, grieving, creating and social justice (not always simultaneously) are other topics that I will approach.
Please feel free to respond. Share your story. Ask a question. Or suggest a topic.
And may God bless the living and sharing of our stories and faith journeys,
Cynthia Langston Kirk
