CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: What must we do?
People: Follow
Leader: Who must we love?
People: Our neighbors – those easy to love and those difficult to love all around the globe
Leader: How must we love?
People: As we would love ourselves, if we could perceive ourselves as God does
Leader: How much must we love?
People: Enough to release our grasps on the material things for they prohibit us from our fullest generosity and our most tender compassion
PRAYER OF RECONCILIATION
Holy One, we want to squirm out of full commitment to your creation. We want to have our cake and eat it too, all the while knowing there are people with dire physical and mental needs. We don symbols of followers, yet search for every short cut along the journey. Have mercy on us, O God. Have mercy on our pitiful and selfish choices and lead us into the wide and hospitable way with you. Amen.
